David E. Meyer

David Evert Meyer, of Brighton, formerly of Loudon, TN and Clarkston, MI passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Fenton. He was 83 years old.

Born August 31, 1942, in Pontiac, he was the son of Evert and Thelma Meyer. David was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. On June 21, 1970, David married Sandra Youness in Royal Oak. He worked as an electronic engineer until his retirement from HORIBA Automotive. He loved sailing and being on the water, was an avid gun collector and he loved to travel.

David is survived by his son Bruce Burwitz and his wife Joleen; five grandchildren, Ellie Burwitz, Alexandria Lamb, Jared Burwitz, Nick Martin and Brenna Martin; one sister Marie Ait-laussine and her husband Nordine, as well as nephews Taj and Nadir and niece Tammy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra Meyer, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Cyndi Burwitz and daughter Michaela Martin.

Cremation has been held. Entombment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly where military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force and the Fenton VFW.
