David Lee Middleton, age 56, husband, father and son, passed on to his eternal reward on January 23, 2026.
Born September 12, 1969, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to David and Marilyn Middleton.
He was married to the love of his life, Jeri (Austin) for 16 years. He is survived by his two sons, David (Steven) and Christopher (Nakita) Middleton, two step children, Lorraine and Scott Garfield; his mother, Marilyn Middleton; his two sisters, Melody (Tony) Guevara and Michelle (Victor) Middleton-Philpot; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Michael, Kyle (Valeria) and Bradley; along with his special fur boys, Copper and Blue; and many close cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, two aunts and two uncles.
Many of his childhood years, were spent in Peru and Dominican Republic. As an adult he lived in Michigan where he earned a degree as a registered nurse. Dave spent many years caring for others in hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice. He also spent many years in leadership, where he was not just a boss, he was a friend, mentor, and sometimes a therapist. His most recent years were spent as a traveling nurse. Dave touched many lives and was loved by so many of his patients, co-workers, as well as his family. He will be remembered for his wittiness, intelligence, love of life, and the Detroit Tigers.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held from 12-4 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; with a special Nurses Honor Guard Service being held at 3 PM. Please come dressed in Detroit Tigers, Miami Dolphins, or casual clothing, as this is what Dave would have wanted.
