Dawn Dianne Denker was born on November 11, 1964 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Ted and Shirley (Freeburg) Denker. She was raised in Flint and graduated from Carman High School.
In 2001, Dawn moved to Le Mars to be closer to her sister, Denise.
Dawn was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3243 of Fenton, where she was active alongside her father. She enjoyed doing the poppy sales and played lots of BINGO and pool at the VFW hall. She also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.
Along with BINGO, Dawn enjoyed going to the casino and doing a little gambling. While living in Le Mars, Dawn became a member of Rejoice! Community Church where she loved going to church and made some really great friends. She enjoyed having lunch with her neighbors and loved to watch her daytime soap operas. She had a love for all things Winnie the Pooh and had several beloved pets over the years, most recently a cat named 'Pooh'.
Her favorite time was spent with her family, especially her nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved their Auntie Dawnie dearly. She never missed their school events and provided daycare for all of them while they were growing up.
Dawn is survived by two sisters: Denise Denker of Le Mars, Iowa, and Debra (Greg) Stotts of Burton, Michigan; nephew, Robert (Tami) Kibby of Le Mars and their children, Logan Kibby, Brianna Kibby, Mya Kibby, Aidan Kibby, Addisyn Kibby, and Annabelle Kibby; two nieces, Carie (Matt) Arens of Hinton, Iowa, and their children; Clarissa Arens, Carlie Arens, and Cashton Arens; and Rachelle (Dave) Carlson of Fenton, Michigan, and their children, Averi Stotts and Wyatt Stotts; special friend, Darrell Almond of Flint, Michigan; several cousins, aunts, uncles and many beloved friends.
