Dawn Ann Evans

December 29, 1960 — April 22, 2026

Dawn Ann Evans, 66, passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2026, after a courageous and defiant battle with stage four lung cancer. Even in her final days, she remained the same woman her family and friends knew and loved, a bright light who brought the sunshine into every room she entered.

Born on December 29, 1960, she lived a life defined by warmth, creativity, and an adventurous spirit. After spending two decades enjoying the warmth of Florida, she followed her heart back to her roots, returning to Michigan to be surrounded by the people she loved most.

An avid golfer, she was often found on the greens, enjoying the sport and the outdoors. Her love for animals was legendary; she leaves behind her devoted dogs, Covi and Tucker, and her faithful cat, Buddy. She is now joyfully reunited with her favorite dog, Toby, who preceded her in death.

She was a woman of artistic inspiration, always creating and sharing her talents with those around her. That creative spark lives on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched with her kindness.

She is survived by her daughter, Courtney Evans; her grandchildren, Abbey (Tyler) Williams, Jamon (Hannah) Link, and Carson Dilley; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Evans, and her sister, Tracy Heidtmen. Her family wishes to remember her not for her illness, but for the sunshine she shared so freely. Her strength, her faith, and her passion will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life and lunch will be held from 2PM -6PM on Sunday April 26, 2026, at the Durand Eagles Club, 5240 S New Lothrop Rd, Durand, MI 48429
