Dawn Dee Overmyer

Dawn Dee Overmyer of Fenton, Wife, Mother, Sister and Friend, passed away on July 3, 2025. She was 78 years old.

Born January 16, 1947, in Flint she was one of three daughters born to William and Margaret (Franklin) Murdock. Dawn married the love of her life Paul D. Overmyer and they were married on March 7, 1970, in Flint.

Dawn was longtime fixture of and active in the Fenton community that she loved. She began working for the Fenton Public Schools as a secretary in 1978 first working at the North Road Elementary School and then at Tomek-Eastern Elementary School until her retirement in 2000 after 22 years of service. She and her husband Paul remained active in her community as a volunteer and taking her love for gardening, put that to use as Chair of the Fenton Beautification Commission.

Dawn is survived by her loving spouse of 55 years Paul, their two sons, Doug Overmyer and his wife Justine of Hollister, CA, Brian Overmyer and his wife Linda of Folsom, CA; Sister, Gail Stanke and husband Craig of Swartz Creek, MI; a Grandson, William Overmyer of Hollister, CA; Three Granddaughters, Emily Overmyer of Hollister, CA, Allyson Overmyer and Amanda Overmyer of Folsom, CA .

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Juanita Kenny.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, 3:00 pm at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430 with Pastor Robbie Carnes, officiating. Paul and the family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until time of the service.
