Dean William BUZZARD

BUZZARD, Dean William, age 86, of Grand Blanc, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at home. Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, January, 5, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Pastor Kevin Harbin officiating. The family will receive friends 10:00AM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Dean was born March 6, 1926 in Huntington, IN the son of the late Elbridge and Laura (Kocher) Buzzard. He married the love of his life, Barbara Shaw on December 24, 1948 and she preceded him in death on September 9, 2012. Dean was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Corps serving as a Corporal during WWII. Dean earned his Bachelor Degree from Huntington College, his first Master Degree from Purdue University, and his second Master Degree from University of Illinois. Dean was employed as a Professor by Mott Community College for 31 years, until his retirement in 1986. His greatest joys were hearing about the success of his students and spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Surviving are: two children, Kirk (Diane) Buzzard of Swartz Creek, Cheryl (Douglas) Markham of Grand Blanc; three grandchildren, Kelly (Stephen) Syjud, Jonathan Buzzard and Nicole Markham; one great-granddaughter, Sierra Syjud; brother, Roger Buzzard (Juanita)of Huntington, IN; many nieces and nephews.
