Debra Lyn Valley

June 1, 1951 — January 25, 2026

Flint

Debra “Dee” Valley, age 74 of Flint, Michigan, passed away on January 25, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and unforgettable memories. Dee devoted 30 years of her life to General Motors, where her strong work ethic and determination reflected the same spirit she carried into every part of her life.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Karma Maxwell, and son-in-law, Josh Maxwell, along with her two treasured granddaughters, Malayna Maxwell and Addison Maxwell-whom she adored beyond measure. Being a grandmother was one of Dee’s greatest joys, and her girls were truly the light of her life. Dee was a lover of many things and lived with a fearless sense of adventure. She scuba-dived in exotic waters, rode Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and embraced life with a bold, open heart. She loved music, cherished quiet moments playing backgammon, and held a deep affection for her dogs-especially her beloved Shih Tzu, Thor, who preceded her in death in 2024. Dee lived a life that felt like 1,000 lifetimes packed into 74 years. She made her best friends her family and leaves behind her cherished “sisters”: Denise Dees, Carla Smith, and Jody Hodge, whose bond with her was unbreakable. Her spirit, laughter, and boundless love will continue to live on in all who knew her. Dee will be remembered as a woman who lived fully, loved fiercely, and left the world richer for having been in it.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Grand Blanc Township Police Officers whose bravery will never be forgotten. In the early morning hours of January 23, their courageous actions saved Dee from a house fire and gave her family precious additional time with her. Karma and her family will forever carry that gift in their hearts.

Dee will be cremated, and details regarding a Celebration of Life will be shared with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grand Blanc Township Police Officer Association: Grand Blanc Township Police Dept. , 5405 Saginaw St, Flint, MI 48507.

Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507.

Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
