GENOVESI, Delano Jay "Dudley" - Age 65, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2025 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM; and at church the following Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home at 6 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Delano was born September 25, 1959 in Flint, the son of Joseph Dante and Barbara Columbine (Walker) Genovesi. He was a 1977 graduate of Swartz Creek High School; he then received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. He married Bonnie Jean Brockhaus July 1, 1995 in Swartz Creek. Delano had resided in Swartz Creek most of his life. He retired from Dupont after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed golfing and riding his bikes. He was also a life-long animal lover, especially of cats.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Genovesi; daughters, Gabrielle, Rene'e , and Julia Genovesi; siblings, Linda (Bill) Traylor, Kathleen Genovesi, Joseph (Dawn) Genovesi, Tony (Crys) Genovesi, Angelo (Susan) Genovesi, Mary (Dan Rowe) Brasher, Mario Genovesi, Geno (Julie Leonard) Genovesi and Monica Genovesi; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara Genovesi.
