Delio BARLETTA Sr.

BARLETTA, Delio, Sr. - age 76, of Fenton, died suddenly at home on Monday, September 23, 2013. Funeral mass will be celebrated 12 PM Thursday, September 26, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrant. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Tuesday and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd. Fenton where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM followed by a Knights of Columbus service. Visitation will also be held from 11 am until the time of mass at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign. Delio was born November 19, 1936 in Patricia, Italy, the son of Elvidio and Delia (Simoni) Barletta. He married Vilma Biancucci on July 12, 1958 in Patricia, Italy and they came to the U. S. in 1959. He started in the restaurant business in 1961. He opened John's Pizzeria and Cocktail Lounge in 1964 in Fenton. Delio was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy. Surviving are: wife of 55 years, Vilma; three children, Delio Barletta, Jr. and wife, Lynda of AZ, Sandy Zdenek of Fenton and Joseph Barletta and wife, Sharon of AZ; six grandchildren, Jason (Johnna) Barletta, Jennifer (Amir) Jazayeri, Anthony Barletta, Bianca Zdenek, Alexandra Zdenek, and Joey Barletta; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Mansueti; uncle Mario (Marguerite) Simoni; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in the U.S. and in Italy.
