Della Lea Ann McGaugh

Della Lea Ann McGaugh, of Flint, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at McLaren Hospital in Flint. She was 83 years old.

Born November 17, 1942, in Robinson, IL she was the daughter of Leonard and Willa Jean (Hardiman) Coggins. Della earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, where she was Phi Beta Kappa and earned her PhD from the University of Michigan. On May 26, 1963, she married Jack McGaugh in Norman, OK. She retired from McLaren Medical Library where she worked as manager for 30 years. Della loved trave and the outdoors especially hiking, among her favorite trip was to the game preserves of Tanzania.

Della is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jack McGaugh; their sons Stacy McGaugh and his wife Anne and Eric McGaugh and his wife Nicki; three grandchildren, Caitlyn McGaugh and her husband Joe, Isabel McGaugh and her husband Will and Mitchell McGaugh; and one great grandchild Sophia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Larry Coggins.
