Delores "Jean" Barrett

Delores “Jean” Barrett, age 92, of Burton, passed away at home on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road.

Jean was born on February 9, 1934 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Delong) Barrett. She worked for many years in payroll for the Flint Board of Education until her retirement. Jean loved spending time with her family and their Monday dinners together. She enjoyed yardwork, gardening, shopping, feeding the squirrels by hand and collecting figurines and antiques.

She is survived by her son, John Benjamin; daughter, Laura Caryl and her husband, Randy; 2 grandsons, Benjamin Caryl and his wife, Lauren and Samuel Caryl; special nieces and nephews, Brad and Ralph Boyce, and Cindy and Tim Landry.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Benjamin; and siblings, Lois Landry, Robert Barrett, and Pattie Boyce.
