Delos "Jerry" Gerald Walter

Delos “Jerry” Gerald Walter, age 97, of Grand Blanc, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Cremation will follow, with burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery to take place at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to Wounded Warrior Project or Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

Jerry was born on May 13, 1929, in Flint, the son of the late Arlo and Augusta (Stewart) Walter. He graduated from Davison High School, Class of 1947. Jerry proudly enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. He married Patricia Ann Podojak on July 26, 1980, in Flint. Sadly, she preceded him in death on April 16, 2026.

Jerry was a member and avid supporter of the American Legion, the NRA, and the Wounded Warrior Project. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, reading, and working on projects in his home workshop.

Surviving are his children, Scott (Priscilla) Herm of Washington Township, Sheryl (Curtis) Adair of Lennon, Jill (Eric) Lockwood of Texas, and John (Gena) Walter of Owosso; grandchildren, Logan (Christine), Sydney, Britney, Brandon, Cody (Erica), Cassidy, Jessica, Zachary, Meredith, Alyssa (Jadyn), and Lexi; and great-grandchildren, Bennett, Juliana, Ayda, Deaken, Dexter, Zoe, and Quinn.
