Dennis Joseph DEW

Dennis Joseph Dew, aged 54, of Corunna, MI, peacefully passed into the kingdom of heaven at his home on Dec. 16, 2012. Growing up in rural Genesee County, he enjoyed farming, hunting, woodcutting, and outdoor activities. Dennis earned his associates in engineering and worked diligently to become a journeyman tool and die maker and leader of the tool room at General Motors Metal Fabrication in Grand Rapids. After over 28 years of service, he retired to a quiet, rural home. He loved music and was a talented guitarist and songwriter. Dennis was a proud father whose wisdom, pragmatism, and self-reliance have been passed down to his two sons, Joshua and Nathan Dew. Dennis was blessed to see the birth of Joshua's daughter, Liberty, in June 2012. "Her smile fills my heart with gladness," he would often say. Dennis also leaves behind an older sister, Elaine Briggs, upon whose wisdom and guidance he relied greatly; wife, Sandra Dew; step-daughter Jennifer Heidel; and grandchildren Katelyn Niezguki and Gracin Heidel (who affectionately referred to Dennis as "bumpa"). While he is dearly missed by all who loved him, solace is taken knowing he is finally at peace.
