Dennis Wayne Keeley

Dennis Wayne Keeley, 68, of Lennon, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his longtime home on August 14, 2026, after a long battle with kidney disease.

Dennis was born on January 14, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, to Carole (Bird) and Guy Keeley. He moved to Lennon at a young age and remained there for the rest of his life.

Dennis worked as an elevator mechanic and lived by the simple saying, “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” A gifted craftsman, he could build, repair, or create just about anything he put his mind to. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, grilling steaks, watching football, and, whenever the opportunity presented itself, pulling a good prank.

Dennis will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity, sense of humor, and devotion to his family. He was always willing to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He lived close to his parents and cared for them daily until their passing, and as a husband, father, and grandfather, he would drop anything to help his family or spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his infant sister, Kathleen, and his infant granddaughter, Alivia Victoria Moorodian.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 1/2 years, Kathy (Fox) Keeley; his siblings, Jim (Lisa) Keeley and Karen (Keeley) Delehanty; his children, John (Heather) Keeley, Sarah (Paul) Moorodian, and Alex (Katie) Keeley; and his nine grandchildren, Bree Keeley, Jacob Unger, John Keeley II, Seth Keeley, Conor Keeley, Sylvia Moorodian, Emma Moorodian, Isabella Keeley, and Bennett Keeley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his many in-laws, who became his second family and were like brothers and sisters to him.

His family and friends will cherish the memories, laughter, and love he gave so freely throughout his life.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4:00-8:00pm at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road in Swartz Creek.  There will be a celebration of Dennis’ life will be held on Saturday, August 22, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the family home, 2475 S. Duffield Rd., Lennon, MI 48449. His family welcomes all who knew Dennis to attend, share stories, and celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dennis’ memory to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, where his grandchildren Alivia and Benny received care. Donations may be made through Michigan Medicine’s Support Our Little Victors program.
