Dennis Schaefer

SCHAEFER, Dennis Anthony - Age 56, of Fenton, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Officiating Pastor Andy Barancik and Fr. Angelo Maggos serving. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until the time of service on Wednesday. Dennis was born July 30, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Gloria (Daly) Schaefer. After moving to Michigan, he married his high school sweetheart Gail Oberlin on July 25, 1981. He was the founder and owner of Creative Wood Products, which he operated for many years. Dennis was a caring husband, loving dad, doting Papa, generous friend, and treasured member of the community. His endless work through the Chamber and other organizations built lasting and meaningful impressions to all he came across. Above all, he lived for his family. Dennis loved to travel and enjoyed taking family trips and making memories to last a lifetime. His energy and positivity was contagious, and it was impossible to leave him without a smile. He is loved greatly and will be missed immeasurably. Dennis is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Gail; children, Nicole (Mike) Notter of Linden, Kelly (Andrew) Chiatalas of Clarkston, Thomas (Nikki) Schaefer of Linden, Jennifer (Kyle) Maddock of Fenton; grandchildren, Gavin and Lilah Notter, Jaxon and Adalynn Schaefer, Elizabeth Chiatalas; siblings, Gloria (John) Grantman, Tom (Sara) Schaefer, John (Regina) Schaefer, Mike (Kathi) Schaefer, Pat (Russ) Meagher; many nieces and nephews.
