Dennis Sloan

Sloan, Dennis Lee - Age 70, of New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Linden, MI, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Funeral services will be held 6 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden. Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions, can do so to Carman-Ainsworth Athletic Boosters. Dennis was born September 2, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Delwin and Barbara (Walker) Sloan. He married Linda Pyles on August 20, 1989 in Linden. Dennis graduated from Bendle High School in 1966, he continued his education and graduated from Valley City State University in North Dakota. He earned his Master Degree as an educator retiring from Carman-Ainsworth Middle School after 39 years of dedicated service. He coached football, wrestling, and was the Assistant Athletic Director of Carman-Ainsworth Middle School. He was a member of the Flint Steelheaders Association of the River Valley Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sloan; three daughters, Larette (Frank) Cappiello, Michelle (Mike) Schwab, and Tina Alsobrooks all of Florida; four grandchildren, Samantha, Michael Sierra, and Shelby; two sisters, Deborah Doty of Grand Blanc and Delyne Sloan of Burton; niece, Kristin (James) LaMotte; nephew, Aaron (Kelly) Doty. Also, many special friends including adoptive son Mike Haist (Stephanie) and Bill, Susan, Rylee, and Gunner Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Randy.
