MOTES, Derek Thomas - age 51, of Pellston, MI, died September 18, 2023. Private services will be held. Derek was born August 19, 1972 in Flint, the son of Thomas Junior and Martha Gail (Teague) Motes. He lived on Mackinac Island for 18 years working for Murdick's Fudge. He was currently residing in Pellston, MI and working for Oleson's Food Stores in Petoskey. Surviving are: sister, Robin (Troy) Miller of Byron; nieces and nephews, Tara O'Neil, Tyler Motes, Jacob Miller, James, Miller and Lily Miller.
