Dolores Brabbs

Brabbs, Dolores Virginia -- Age 80, of Ann Arbor, died February 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, February 7 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Wednesday, and 1 PM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Dolores was born April 17, 1938 in Flint the daughter of Fred and Wilma (Sublette)VanAlstine. She married Walter Brabbs July 25, 1956. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2010. She earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from U of M , Ann Arbor. She worked in Social Work for Hurley and McLaren retiring in 2004. She was a master gardener. Dolores was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Carrie Bailey of Detroit, Michael (Carol) Brabbs of Flushing, Elizabeth Brabbs of Berkley, Timothy (Katherine) Brabbs of Charleston, South Carolina, Stephen ( Julie) Brabbs of Ann Arbor; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren: brother, Dr. Fred (Kathy) VanAlstine M.D.of Owosso; sisters, Brenda (Arnold) Wagner of Flushing, Mary (Robert) Scholl of Honor MI; several nieces and nephews; and her canine companion Bella. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter; son Mark; son in law, Gary Bailey; sister, Shirley Allen. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
