FAUSEY, Don Edward, 79 of Highland, MI, formerly of Fenton, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 14176 Fenton Road, Fenton.  The Reverend Kate Zywicki officiating.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Monday from 4-8 PM and at church Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  The family asks that contributions be directed to the charity of your choosing.

Don was born December 21, 1943, in Fremont, OH, Don was the youngest of five children of Norman and Doris (néé Williamson) Fausey. Following graduation from Fremont Ross High School in 1961, Don enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS until 1964 when he was honorably discharged. On June 11, 1966, he married the love of his life, Penny Jean (néé Hetrick) Fausey in Monroe, MI. Throughout his career, Don was a loving and caring provider, working at Financial Computer Services (Fremont, OH and Mason, MI), The State Bank (Fenton, MI), Fenton Memorials and Vaults, Inc (Fenton, MI) and finishing his career alongside Penny at Fausey and Associates, PC (Fenton, MI). Don was an avid golfer and active in the community, serving for many years with the Fenton Optimists Club, the Fenton Rotary Club, where he served for a time as president, and on the Fenton Downtown Development Authority. He is well remembered for his quiet, thoughtful, patient and serving character, quick witted puns (some quite lousy) and love for any Keebler chocolate cookie. 

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Penny, his son Bryan (Heather) MacPhail-Fausey, daughter Amanda (Daren) Fegan-Shanholtzer, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and siblings Norman (Linda) Fausey of Dublin, OH and Jane Owen of Parma, Idaho.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Neil Fausey formerly of Boise, Idaho, and a sister who died in infancy. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
