Don Raymond

Donald W. Raymond- Age 92, of Lennon, passed away on August 26, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 31, 2026, at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 219 W. Oliver St. Owosso, MI. Visitation will take place from 1PM – 5 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes- Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek, MI, and again on Monday at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.

Don was born on June 4, 1934, in Flint, Michigan to the late Clarence and Emma (Prosser) Raymond. He spent 38 years at General Motors as a Die Setter at AC Spark Plug. He was a hard worker and a generous person, donating over 40 gallons of blood to the Red Cross.

He loved the outdoors- hunting, playing baseball and slow-pitch softball. In his spare time, he walked miles collecting cans and gathering golf balls to donate to local veterans. Don spent years tending to his garden and apple trees. He would pick, peel, and bag his apples, and would often give those away to friends and neighbors along with corn, beans, tomatoes and squash.

Don is survived by his wife of 69 years Shirley; children Bradley, Karey and Alan (Tracie); grandchildren Jennifer (Ron) Schwab, Michael, Kellie, Rachel and Jared Raymond, Nick (Nichole) Will, Adam (Jennifer) Will, Trevor Raymond, Brian (Cora) Haughton, Caitlin and Bobby Barron, and Hannah Newton; great-grandchildren Carter, Paisley and Selah Will, Ethan Schwab, Grace Haughton, and Kayden Bennett.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Conner Raymond.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Red Cross in memory of Don.
