Dona Faye BAILEY

BAILEY, Dona Faye (nee Gresham) (Wells) - age 82, of Flint, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning, December 10, 2013 at the Pines of Swartz Creek. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Chaplain Gene Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service Sunday with a gathering immediatly following at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Leukemia Research Foundation. She was born November 29, 1931 in Harrisburg, AR and grew up in Truman, AR. Her parents were Jesse T. Gresham and Bertie L. (Cagle). At age 16, for her Senior year of high school she moved with her mother and oldest brother (Lamar) to Frankfurt, Germany. She lived there for 2 1/2 years. On January 18, 1953 she married Barney L. Well, Sr. and they moved to Flint and had 4 children before his death in 1969. In 1979 she married Edward (Buck) W. Bailey and they lived in Dittmer, MO until his death in 1997. After living in Alabama for 2 years with her sister (Mary), she moved back to Michigan in 1999 to Davison. She loved being with her family. She never met a stranger and always had a smile. She enjoyed rock collecting, traveling, garage sales and quilts. She loved music and considered herself a devoted audience. She leaves daughter Alicia (Hugh) O'Hara-Root; son Dale Wells; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren; cousin Joyce (Arnold) Simmons; brothers-in-law William Sam Wells, Arnold (Jimmie) Wells; many nieces, nephews, and friends; special friend of 58 years, Inez Eaker. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands; daughters, Barbara Tingle and Paula and son, Barney, Jr; 2 brothers. Lamar and J.B. Gresham and 2 sisters, Mary Thorne and Ruby Mattews.
