Donald Ray Cox

Donald Ray Cox, age 82, of Swartz Creek passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service Wednesday. Arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. 

Don was born on November 8, 1942, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late William and Frankie (Long) Cox. He graduated from Mandeville High School and continued his education at Flint Junior College, later completing an apprenticeship that launched his 35-year career with General Motors, where he worked until his retirement in 2005. On May 11, 1963, Don was united in marriage to Alice Clark, who preceded him in death on October 29, 2008. Don enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with "the Vegas Guys" and cherished time spent with his family and his close friend Bruce (Bev) Hyde. 

Surviving are his daughters Vicki Cox, Cathy (Mike) VanCamp, Cheryl (Mark) Brown; son, Don Cox II; grandchildren, Alex (Gabby), Brian, Patrick, Steven, Andrew, Nicholas, Jordan, Megan, Grace; great-grandson, Wesley; sister, Bonnie Eisle; and many nieces and nephews.
