HODGES, Donald B. -- Age 95, of Fenton, died February 24, 2013 at his residence. Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, March 27 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor John Bridges officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 26. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Residential Hospice, 30755 Barrington Street. Madison Heights MI 48098 Mr. Hodges was born January 20, 1918 in Grand Blanc the son of Carrol and Jessie (Bradley) Hodges. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School. He was married to Helen L. Wortman on March 9, 1946 in Flint; she preceded him in death May 2, 2006. He worked as a farmer all his life until retirement in 1975. He had resided in Fenton most of his life and was a member of the Lake Fenton United Methodist Church. After retirement he and his wife Helen spent many wonderful years residing in Bradenton FL and spending time with family and friends there. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and fishing. Surviving are: three children, Richard D. (Brenda) Hodges of Fenton, Barbara L.(Russ) Scaffede of Holland, MI, Timothy B. (Kelly) Hodges of Zeeland, MI; six grandchildren, Mary Clark, Rusty Scaffede, Ryan Hodges, Jason Hodges, Kelly Hodges, Taylor Hodges; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Clark, Timothy Clark, Dylan Scaffede, Eric Hodges, Lily Hodges, Amelia Hodges; the Christenson Family; two brothers Ben and Burton Hodges; and sisters Helen Reid. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving and devoted wife of 60 years Helen; and best friend Paula Christenson.
