Donald L. Hudson

September 1, 1941 — August 1, 2025

Highland

Donald L. Hudson, 83, of Highland, passed away on August 1, 2025 at Vincinia Gardens in Fenton.

Born September 1, 1941 in Leechburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Donald Franklin and Ann (Ruggeri) Hudson. Don worked as a tool and die maker. He grew up in the Detroit area where he went on to meet and fall in love with our beloved grandma and mother, Theresa. They married on January 18 1966. They enjoyed their trips to Florida and staying in Daytona Beach every May. Don was an avid member of The Barons Motorcycle Club where he and his love -Theresa enjoyed countless motorcycle rides, lifelong friends and memories that Don continued to talked about. Together they welcomed two little boys, Rod and Donnie. They spent endless nights on their boat, enjoying all things outdoors and growing and raising their boys into the men they are today.

Then, they welcomed their 3 grandchildren, Chelsea (Chris) Morway, Lauren (Joel) Peterson, and baby Donnie. Also known as Buck. Whom quickly grew to be the center of their world!

When his beloved wife passed away in 2013 half of him went with her. We are confident that he is finally in her arms again.

There are endless memories, spending weekends at “yellow papa” and “yellow grandmas” house, fighting over who gets the “big chair” in the living room on Sat mornings, to fishing, snowmobiling, dirt biking and just spending special time at their cabin in Gladwin, Mi.

Finally, Chelsea and Lauren grew their families and brought back some of papa's joy with their babies, Vivianne, Luca, Avery and Brady whom quickly became Don’s best buddies and the center of his world. They brought light back into his world.

Don was more than just a papa and a father, he was a best friend, and his family was his first priority, always.

He was also the center of his families world, and will be so greatly missed.

There is great comfort knowing he is holding the hand of his dear wife once again.

Donald is survived by his two sons, Donald E. Hudson of Linden, MI, Rodney Hudson of Fenton, MI; grandson, Donald J. Hudson; two granddaughters, Lauren J. Peterson and her husband Joel and Chelsea Morway and her husband Chris.; two Great-granddaughters, Vivian Morway, Avery Peterson; two Great-grandsons, Luca Morway, Brady Peterson; Sister, Margaret Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Theresa A. (LaBelle) Hudson in 2013.
