MILLER, Donald L. - Age 85, of Byron, died November 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Donald was born March 20, 1928 in Flint, the son of Nelson Major and Della (Froman) Miller. He was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a Hydraulic Specialist. He retired from General Motors with 24 years of service and was then employed by VG's for 13 years. Donald loved baseball and gospel music. Surviving are: wife, Carolyn; children, Johnny L.R. (Marjorie) Miller, Lisa Norberg, Peggy (Robert) Freeman; step-children, Jim (Karen) Thompson, Lynda (Leonard) Butts, Jeffrey Thompson, Carla (Frank) Goad; five grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Miller; sister, Pat Fuller; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nelson "Bud" and David Miller.
