Donald Francis Urban

URBAN, Donald Francis - Age 89, of Linden, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton (The Mass will be live steamed and can be viewed via Donald's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at the church Wednesday at 9:45 AM. A private burial will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to the Alano Club, 800 North Road, Fenton, MI 48430, Attn: Bob Nolkemper.

Don was born November 4, 1936, in Flint, the son of Frank J. and Regina J. (Konieczka) Urban. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Flint. Don was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Fenton Alano Club. He loved watching the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines and any movie that had John Wayne in it. His faith and love of God helped keep him on his path of sobriety achieving 45 years.

Surviving are his children: Sandra (Roger) Borowicz, Karen (Craig) Wiseman, Sharon (Jeff) Brown, Debby (Chuck) Vayda, Michelle Fendert, Sheryl Moss (Dan Nutt), Don (Cathlyn) Urban, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two sisters, Geraldine Cherveny and Marcia Collard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister's Rosalyn Larson and Betty Ryan. The family would like to thank the members of the Alano Club who kept him grounded in his faith and sobriety.
