VanDEUSEN, Donald M. - age 88, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday and 11 AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Donald was born November 7, 1924 in Rose Twp., the son of John M. and Elsie G. (Hankinson) VanDeusen. He attended Holly High School and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. VanDeusen retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker in 1984 after 32 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 1492, Fenton VFW and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. Mr. VanDeusen spent many winters in Ft. Myers Florida. Surviving are: wife, Marian of Fenton; two sons, Richard (Christine) VanDeusen of FL, Thomas (Melanie) VanDeusen of SC; step-son, James Stanley of Holly; step-daughter, Sherry Schmidt of Fenton; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alice (Karnowski) VanDeusen; daughter, Kimberley Snow; three sisters, Florence, Dorothy and Doris; brother, Lester.
