Doris Beck

BECK, Doris Mae- Age 87, of Flint Township, died July 10, 2017. Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Friday August 25 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Funeral arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association http://www.alz.org. Doris was born August 26, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of Nathaniel and Grace (Richards) Boyd. Doris worked as a typist for the Detroit News where she met her husband Bob. After she married she devoted her life to family. She volunteered in many activities involving her children and held various jobs during her life including selling Avon and selling Hallmark products which she loved. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine (Wayne) Sayre, Diane (Mark Thomas) Beck, Janet (Raymond) Hart, Karen (Rodney) Jernigan; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Joan) Boyd.
