Doris Anne HERMAN

HERMAN, Doris Anne - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died April 14, 2013 at Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Durand. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 18 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 8497 W. Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and 10 AM until the time of service at the church on Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Doris was born April 9, 1927 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Henry and Constance (Nelson) Drury. She was a 1945 graduate of Flint Central High School and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She was married to Gottlieb Herman on February 14, 1948 in Flint; he preceded her in death May 2, 1979. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Swartz Creek. She enjoyed many hours with her sewing club. Surviving are: four children, Christopher (Phyllis) Herman of Swartz Creek, Charles (Theresa) Herman of Swartz Creek, Connie (Mark) Kincaid of Flint, Mary Anne (Roger) Hunt of Swartz Creek; brothers Alex (Annabelle) Drury of Grand Blanc, George "Pete" (Barbara) Drury of Burton; sister Mary Hoole; sister-in-law, Velma Drury of Flushing; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; longtime friend Jane Valley; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, William and James Drury.
