POTTS, Dorothy A. - Age 77, of Fenton, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, July 2, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home Friday morning to process to the church. Visitation will be held 2-5 & 7-9 PM Wednesday and Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A Vigil service will be held 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Arthritis Foundation or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Dorothy was born November 3, 1932 in Mt. Morris, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Jayman) Heenan. She was a graduate of East Tawas High School and Mott College. Dorothy was married to Wesley Dennis Potts on June 11, 1955; he preceded her in death on January 20, 1988. Mrs. Potts was employed by McLaren Hospital for 19 years, where she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. John where she assisted on funeral dinners, AARP, McLaren Retirees, Befrienders, Fenton V.F.W. Auxiliary, Forget Me Nots and Loose Center. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and line dancing. Surviving are: sons, Steven (Elizabeth) of Linden, Scott (Linda) of Fenton, Kevin (Lori) of Gaines, Kirk of Fenton, Kenneth (Michelle) of Swartz Creek; sister, Mary Catherine Sheehan of E. Tawas; sister-in-law, Sharon Heenan of Lake Fenton; grandsons, Timothy (Janine), Jeffery, Gregory and Wesley Nelson; granddaughters, Katy and Avery; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
