Douglas Cripps

CRIPPS, Douglas Clayton - Passed away peacefully December 29, 2014 with his wife by his side at UM Medical Center. He was born in Kitchener, Ontario on May 21, 1925 to Richard and Lillian (Schmuck) Cripps. The family migrated to Flint in 1928. Doug graduated from the Old Northern High School in 1943. He joined the US Navy and fought during WWII, serving in the South Pacific Theatre until the war ended. Doug obtained his degree from Flint Junior College under the new GI bill and joined Citizens Bank. He retired as Vice President in 1984 and became an Investment Advisor retiring in 2014 from Morgan Stanley. Doug leaves behind his beloved wife, Marilyn Williamson-Cripps; daughters, Kelley (Jeremy) Gerics, Nancy (Michael) Burkhardt and Mary Cripps (deceased); sons, Benson (Peggy) Cripps and Richard (Susan) Cripps; brother-in-law, Robert B. Acton; cousin, Robert (Ruth) Schmuck and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial gathering to be Monday, January 5th from 4-8 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton MI. Military Service Tuesday, January 6th at 1 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI.
