Douglas Edward Smith

SMITH, Douglas Edward -- Age 77, of Swartz Creek, died January 24, 2026. Funeral services will be held 1PM Wednesday, January 28 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 11AM Wednesday, January 28 until time of service at the funeral home.

Douglas was born July 21, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Kenneth and Ella (Bulger) Smith. He married Janice Winck on June 20, 1975. He was an architect working for many firms in Arizona and Michigan. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He loved gardening. He was a beloved husband , father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice; two children, Jennifer Smith, Gregory Smith; three grandchildren, Brendan Hendricks, Reyana Hendricks, Eliette Smith-Milici; siblings, Robert Dace-Smith (Janel), Mary Hughes (Robert).

He was preceded in death by his parents.
