Larion, Douglas Dunston - Age 90, of Grand Blanc, passed away at home May 7, 2026.
Douglas was born June 8, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Edward James Larion and Marion Elizabeth (Dunston) Larion. Education was important to Douglas as a graduate from Flint Northern High School in 1953, continuing to nurture his love for writing and poetry at Northwestern University graduating in 1957 with a Bachelors of Science from Medill school of Journalism. As a proud member of Lambda Chi, he cherished his dear life-long friendships greatly. He was an Army Veteran, being discharged in 1964.
Douglas' love for golf is shown by a framed hole in one plaque and photo on his office wall. Golf, writing stories and poetry, spending time in Charlevoix with his family were all things he was immensely proud of.
He dedicated nearly 30 years to General Motors, retiring as Materials Manager in 1992 from Powertrain in Flint.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Flint Elks Lodge 222, The American Legion, and Linden Historical Society. Douglas and Jayne married on June 23, 1984, and have spent every year on this date since celebrating their love in Charlevoix, Michigan. Charlevoix held a special place in his heart as it fully encompassed everything he loves. A great view to read a book, history, and golf.
