MALLON, Dr. Harold L. - age 75, of Grand Blanc, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Temple Beth El, 5150 Calkins Rd., Flint with Rabbi Karen Companez officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Temple Beth El. Dr. Mallon was born September 7, 1934 in Detroit, the son of Dr. Jerome and Selma (Stocker) Mallon. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. He attended dental school at the University of Detroit and completed his oral surgery residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He practiced oral surgery in Flint for over 40 years. Dr. Mallon was a navigator in the Air Force. He was a member and past president of the Bruins Club, one of the founders of the Genesee County Sheriff Department Paramedic Program, and a board member of Health Plus since 1990. He was the Past President and co-owner of the Flint Spirits, member of the Hundred Club, the AJGA, the USGA and the Shelby Club. He was a past board member of Odyssey House and a former member and assistant golf pro at Atlas Valley Country Club. Dr. Mallon was a passionate Spartan fan and member of MSU Ralph Young Fund. He also had a passion for golf. He was a member of Warwick Hills Country Club and was the oldest member to win the Club Championship. Harold was a dedicated Thursday night poker player for over 40 years. Surviving are: wife, Marjorie; three children, Drs. Lawrence I. (Yvonne) Mallon of Muskegon, Drs. William J. (Genevieve) Mallon of Vero Beach, FL, Bonnie F. (Mallon) and Larry Rosenthal of Arlington, VA; their mother, Judith Mallon Seigle of FL; two step-children, Cindy (David) Cheesebro and Chari Schweinsberg; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gayle (Stephen) Newman, Esther and (Dr. Barry) Sherman; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Dr. Archie (Pat) Attarian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Jerome and Selma Mallon. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Genesys Health Park ICU.
