Earl Ruffin Jr.

Earl Ruffin Jr., age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Earl was born in Marshall, Texas, on March 31, 1943, Earl moved to Michigan in his early childhood when his father, Earl Ruffin Sr., began working for General Motors (GM). Earl attended Flint Central High School before embarking on a dedicated career with GM. He started at the foundry and later became an electrician, a trade he skillfully practiced for many years. He retired in 1994 from Buick City as a journeyman electrician after 28 years of service. Earl had a passion for fishing, farming, and coaching wrestling. He cherished spending time with his beloved wife, Delores "Dee" Ruffin.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; his children: Jeff (Lauren) Ruffin, Winston Ruffin, Laura Ruffin, Cynthia Ruffin, Rachelle Ruffin, Julia Ruffin, and Toni (Broderick) Hannah; and his sisters: Dorothy Hill, Creamella Mayfield, Martha Moore, and Diane Ruffin, Juanita Kumarswamy. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Wesley Hall, Mari Holmes, Ayandi Drumgole, Jaden Drumgole, Anya Rose, Solana Hannah, Saliyah Hannah, Braylond Hannah, Dacio Ruffin, and Amaris Ruffin, Miguel Lee.

Mr. Ruffin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alma Ruffin; his brother, Claudell Ruffin; his son, Steven Ruffin; and his daughter, Michelle Duncan.
