Havlichek, Edward William - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, passed away August 14, 2026. A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 W. Maple Ave., Flint 48507 with Pastor Mark Pretznow and Pastor David Hensler officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Animal Shelter. Edward was born November 20, 1944, in Cass City, Michigan, the son of Edward and Margaret (Fader) Havlichek. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Edward retired as Director of Purchasing at Kettering University, formerly General Motors Institute (GMI). Edward had a great love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and fishing. He was also a talented woodworker and a true jack-of-all-trades who could build, repair, or tackle just about anything. Above all, he treasured spending time with his beloved dog, Lucy. Surviving are: wife, Kristine Havlichek; five children, Jamie Cunningham of Flint, Julie (Charlie) Corlew of Cunningham, TN, Jennifer (Rudy) Gallardo of Rocky Mount, NC, Chad (Heather) Smeby of Gaines and Carrie Smeby of Swartz Creek; 12 grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Havlichek and partner, Virginia Peterson. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Edward and Margaret Havlichek. Arrangements entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473.
