Edwin (Ed) Herman Schwarz, Jr of Fenton, MI passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at McLaren-Flint at the age of 90. He was the loving son of the late Anna Clara (Hoffman) Schwarz and Edwin Herman Schwarz, Sr. Ed was born on September 4th, 1932, in Newark, NJ. He was raised in Maplewood, NJ and graduated from Columbia High School and Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Later he obtained his Professional Engineering credentials.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Janet (Schwarz) (William) Hollyfield. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Marsha (Van Dyke) Schwarz, his three children: Sandra (Doug) Blank of Spokane, WA, Robert (Patricia) Schwarz of Thompsontown, PA and David (Trudy) Schwarz of Reisterstown, MD as well as his stepdaughter Nicole (Brett) Bixby of Sanford MI. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved cousin Arlene (Schwarz) Miicke of Rehoboth, DE, a niece and several nephews.
Ed was a Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fenton and enjoyed singing in the choir, traveling, golf, listening to opera and reading. Ed will always be cherished and fondly remembered for his love of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Fenton First Presbyterian Church, 503 S Leroy St, Fenton, MI 48430 with Rev. Robbie Carnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday at the church.
