Elden Merrit WESTON

WESTON, Elden Merritt -- Age 88, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Burton and East Jordan, died October 8, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Private family services have been held. Elden was born August 13, 1924 in Flint, the son of the late Clarence Russell and Gladys Marie (Tippett) Weston. He married Bonnie Keillor on October 10, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1997. In his youth, Elden was a Golden Gloves Champion Boxer and in the 1950's he was a Long Haul Trucker, traveling around the United States, enjoying the scenery, especially Alaska. Elden had fond memories of running the speed boat ride concession on Lake Fenton in the 1940's, and hunting and fishing with his Dad. He was employed by A.C. Spark Plug for 30 years as a Lathe Hand until his retirement in 1983. Surviving are his children, Leslee Jakeway, Stacie Brugger (Jim), Carie Hodgkinson; grandchildren, Shannon Weston (Gabrielle), Eric Brugger (Kerry), Korey Root, Terry Hodgkinson (Jeanette), Virginia Underhill (Jason); great-grandchildren, Alan, Anna, Emma, Baily, Hannah, Carson, Kendall, Destiny, Dominic, Elden, Gordy, Lilly, Gavin, and his special little dog, Sadie. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Doug Brugger; son-in-law, Denny Hodgkinson and sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Maurice Fry.
