Eleanor Liddy Iberle, age 89, of Flushing, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Bavarian Comfort Care. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2025, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6012 E. River Rd., Flushing, MI 48433. Pastor Monica M. Villarreal will preside, with interment following at Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Cemetery in Flushing. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 20 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service Friday at the church. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to King of Glory Lutheran Church.

Eleanor was born in Chicago, IL, on October 4, 1936, the daughter of the late William and Louise (Sutterlin) Wurster. She graduated from Foreman High School in Chicago in 1954. Eleanor met George A. Iberle; they dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 16, 1957, in Chicago. Almost 10 years later, in 1966, they moved from their home in Chicago with their three children to Flint, Michigan. Eleanor began working for the Fair Department Store in the credit department and continued there until her retirement.

In retirement, she volunteered with multiple hospice organizations and at Flushing Community Schools, Elms Road Elementary. Eleanor enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and attending craft shows with her friends and family. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church for 20 years. She was an excellent baker, known for her large selection of Christmas cookies during the holidays and her family’s favorite strawberry freezer jam. In recent years, she enjoyed putting together numerous puzzles, playing Bunco with her friends, spending time at the Flushing Senior Center, her beloved cats and watching birds. Eleanor always cherished hosting and spending time with her family during special occasions and holidays.

She is survived by her 3 children, Thomas (Kathleen) Iberle, Karl (Lisa) Iberle, and Wendy (Robert) Ashley; 6 grandchildren, Christopher (Anna Micheel) Iberle, Benjamin (Hart Ford) Iberle, Erich (Allie) Iberle, Dr. Bianca Iberle (Brandon Sears), Sarah (Trevor) Jones, and Blake (Brooke) Ashley; 9 great-grandchildren, Easton Jones, Camden Iberle, Oliver Ashley, Theo Iberle, Calwyn Ford-Iberle, Memphis Jones, Felix Ashley, Jameson Jones, and Jamie Iberle; her brother, William (Susan) Wurster; niece and nephew, Christine (Chris) Schuler and Stephen Wurster; and great-nephew, Dawson Schuler.

In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Samantha Iberle.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport and Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion given. Tributes may be shared with the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
