Eleanore Callahan

Eleanore Irene (Sanderson) Callahan - Age 86, of Lennon, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021. Private services will take place at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will take place at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society.

Eleanore was born on December 9, 1934 in Detroit the daughter of William and Irene (Cottrell) Sanderson. She graduated from St. Michaels Catholic School in 1953. Eleanore and Lawrence “Larry” Callahan were united in marriage on June 27, 1953 in Flint. She worked as a caregiver for several years for nursing homes. Eleanore was the “taxi driver” for her children and the neighborhood's children. In her free time she enjoyed painting, gardening, chopping wood and being in the outdoors.

She is survived by her four daughters, Lynne (Jerry Persails) Adkins, Debbie (Mike) Callahan, Denise (Rick) Kenel and Lori Callahan; and several grand and great grandchildren.

Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; son, Joseph; and sister Elaine Sanderson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
