Ellie Marie Benson

BENSON, Ellie Marie - age 76, of Burton, passed away August 26, 2024. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Ellie was born November 2, 1947 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of James and Shirley (Roe) Sullivan. She was a graduate of Durand High School and resided in Durand most of her life. Ellie owned and operated Ellie's Custom Car Clean-Up for many years. She was a very loving, independent, free-spirited woman. Surviving are: four children, Douglas James (Markita) Rodd, Michelle Marie (James) Lightner, Richard Dale (Tracey) Ralston III, and James Reese (Semhar) Benson III; grandchildren, Ceara, Amira, Amber, Esa, Elonna, Douglas II, Jennifer, and Mike; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Roxanne (John) Lehn, Jim Sullivan, and Nancy (Steve) Waterman.
