Emma Dell Kostyla

KOSTYLA, Emma Dell  Age 83, of Flint, died Thursday, May 21, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint with Rev. Mgsr. Richard Groshek celebrant. Interment will be held in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9 PM Sunday and 5-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A scripture service will be held 7 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Kostyla was born October 10, 1919 in Vicksburg, MS, the daughter of Harry and Ruth (Underwood) Dick. She had resided in Flint most of her life. She married John Peter Kostyla on November 11, 1944 and he preceded her in death in August 1982. Mrs. Kostyla worked at AC Spark Plug during World War II. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and was a dedicated mom and grandma. Surviving are: son, James and wife, Ann Kostyla of Flint; two grandchildren, Kristine and Tyler; brother, Casey; sister, Eve; several nieces and nephews.
