Eric Richard Hole, known to many as Rick, passed away on December 6, 2024, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 66. Born on April 6, 1958, in Livonia, Michigan, Rick lived a life marked by dedication to his career, a love for family and friends, and a passion for his hobbies. A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at The Freedom Center, located at 2473 W Shiawassee Ave, Fenton, MI 48430. Guests are invited to arrive between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to view pictures and share stories with the family. A celebration of life ceremony will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., after which hors d'oeuvres will be served and attendees will have the opportunity to share memories with the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to The Freedom Center.
Rick spent his early years in the communities of Grosse Pointe and Holly, Michigan. A proud graduate of Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, he continued his education at Lawrence Technological University, but ultimately chose to focus on his professional career. He worked at Aluminum Blanking Company in Pontiac, Michigan for over 35 years, where his passion for the work quickly became evident, and he earned a reputation for his hard work and expertise. Over the course of his career, Rick rose to become a respected leader in his field, known for his innovation and dedication. After his departure from ABCo in 2014, he founded his own consulting company, Evolution13, where he continued to apply his skills in new and innovative ways, leaving a lasting legacy within the industry he admired.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Rick found joy in life’s adventures and simple pleasures. He was an avid enthusiast of cars and snowmobiles and enjoyed playing hockey, hunting, and mountain biking. Above all else, he cherished the time spent with those closest to him—his friends and family were a constant source of happiness throughout his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his son Matthew Hole; daughter Whitney Hole; mother Barbara Hole; siblings Dee Dee Niles, LeeAnn Hole, Laura Anderson, and Scott Hole; and numerous nieces and nephews. His faithful dog Kuma and granddog Gaia also held special places in his heart. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Hole; brother-in-law Michael Anderson; and beloved dogs Smokey and Max. Rick’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best—his family members who loved him dearly and the many friends whose lives he touched along the way. May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
