Ernest Howard FERGUSON

FERGUSON, Ernest Howard - Age 69, of Gaines, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with minister Mark Aites officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1-6 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until time of service. Those desiring may make contribution to the American Heart Association, Michigan Parkinson Foundation or Diabetes Foundation. Ernest was born September 7, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Dwight and Mary (Coward) Ferguson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married Verna Ruth Wriggleworth September 14, 1963 in Gaines. Ernest retired from GM Truck Assembly after 38 years of service. He had resided in Gaines since 1972 coming from Durand. He was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ and was a caregiver to his granddaughter, Natalie. Surviving are: wife, Verna; 3 sons, Eric Ferguson of Davison, Jason Ferguson of Gaines and Alex and wife Jodie Ferguson of Grand Blanc; daughter, Kristin Ferguson of Gaines; granddaughter, Natalie; nieces, Tracy Martin and Aero Ferguson; several other nieces and nephews; sister, Diana Crawford; brother, Gerald and wife Jeanette Ferguson.
