Esther Lucille Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Esther Lucille - age 103, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Rd, Fenton, MI 48430 followed by the funeral service at 1 PM with Rev. James Mascow and Rev. Dr. Lawrence Bowlin officiating. A family interment service will be held at Wixom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gideons International (www.gideons.org). Esther was born April 25, 1920, in Sidney, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lottie (Jenkins) Proctor. She married Chester Isaac Armstrong on July 12, 1937, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2006. Esther's life was about Faith, Family and Food. Esther retired from Walled Lake Public Schools as a Culinary Arts Instructor She was actively involved in First Baptist Church of Wixom where she taught Sunday School, was a Deaconess and leader in Christian Woman's Fellowship. She was very playful and loved being around young people. She is survived by: three children, James Armstrong of Cohoctah, Kay Counts of Davisburg; and Debbie Townley of Holly; daughter-in-law, Linda Armstrong of Grand Blanc; 15 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lottie Proctor; husband, Chester Armstrong; son, Joseph Armstrong; daughter-in-law, Kathy Armstrong; two sons-in-law, Gray Counts and Russell Townley; granddaughter, Carrie Bolesky; great-grandchild, TJ Bolesky; and five siblings, John, Hugh, Eldon "Red", Robert, and Frank Proctor.
