TOMPKINS-ANDERSON, Ethel P.- Age 88, went to be with her heavenly father, January 23, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday January 31 at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will take place 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Western Hills Living. Ethel was born July 9, 1928, in Belton, TX, to Lilly Rhodes and James Thomas Wood. Ethel was a LPN and received her nursing degree from Mott Community College. She retired from Genesee Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the West Court Street Church of God. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ethel leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Linda Tompkins, Jenice Meshraky, Donna (special son-in-law, William Yax); grandsons, William Yax Jr., James Yax; granddaughters, Deanna, Denice, Sherry, Christina, and Angela; stepsons, Wayne Anderson, Howard Anderson, and Andy Anderson; numerous great and great great grandchildren. Also remaining is a loving sister-in-law, Marie D'Angelo. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Denver Tompkins and Clifford Anderson; grandsons, Mark Smith and Michael Meshraky. The family wishes to extend thanks and appreciation to the staff of Western Hills Living and owners, Chris and Victoria Kelly for the special care they gave Ethel.
