BONDARENKO, Eugene "Bondi" - Age 84 , of Alpena and Flint, died March 20, 2013. Services will be 11 AM Saturday, August 10 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Steve Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 9-11 AM Saturday, August 10. Eugene was born November 11, 1928 in Lansing. Eugene served in the U.S. Army. He was married to Mary Horton who preceded him in death December 11, 1987. He retired from the Flint Fire Department. Surviving are: three children, Maurine (Michael) Beard of Florida, Marianne Bittner of Texas, Michael Bondarenko of Flint; six grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Shane, Mary, Dakota, and Michael, several great-grandchildren; companion of 20 years, Shirley Okoniewski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Bondarenko and Sophie Szala, and brothers, Frank Bondarenko and Herbert Bondarenko.
