Eugene Lawrence KALAKAY

KALAKAY, Eugene Lawrence -- Age 79 of Flushing, died April 14, 2014. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday April 16 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street Flint, Fr. Thomas Firestone celebrant. Visitation will be held 12 - 3PM and 5-8PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7PM Tuesday. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Mission or charity of your choice. Eugene was born July 27, 1934, in Flint, the son of John and Meta (Grow) Kalakay. He married Elizabeth Lahar on May 16, 1953. His hobbies were wood working and fishing. Surviving are: wife Elizabeth Kalakay; children, Beth (Clyde) Schultz, Mary (Benny) Crafton, Michele (David) Dresbach, Brian (Fiance Peggy) Kalakay, John (Heidi) Kalakay; sister, Rosemary Nolkemper; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
