Flossie Ellen Evans

EVANS, Flossie Ellen - Age 95, of Flint, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Fostrian Court. Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Thurman W. Chenoweth officiating. Interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-9PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to West Flint Church of The Nazarene. Mrs. Evans was born February 26, 1908 in Morehouse, MS, the daughter of Clyde and Emma (Hollenbeck) McGathy. She married Chester Evans on February 12, 1928 and he preceded her in death on September 3, 1968. Mrs. Evans had resided in Flint since 1929. She was a member of the West Flint Church of The Nazarene and Carman-Ainsworth Senior Citizens where she was an exercise instructor for several years. Surviving are: 2 sons, Edward Evans and wife Patricia of Fenton, Alfred Evans and wife Carol of Swartz Creek; 2 daughters, Alberta Snell of Flint, Sandra and husband Stanley Pruett of Flint; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nellie and husband Ralph Davis of Flint, and Ann Baxter of Lakeview, MI; several nieces and nephews.
