Frances Santavy

SANTAVY, Frances Vasicek - age 103, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, March 5, 2017. Private funeral service will be held. Mrs. Santavy was born June 3, 1913 in Lum, MI, the daughter of Thomas and Antonia (Vavrik) Vasicek. She married Peter Santavy on January 13, 1934 and he preceded her in death on 1999. In the late 40's and 50's she maintained her own dairy herd and assisted her husband in their grain farming operation. She was the Financial Secretary for the Czechoslovakian Society of America Insurance group for 33 years and volunteered at Mary Crapo School in Swartz Creek for many years. Music was an important part of her life, playing music as a young lady and ballroom dancing with her husband. She was a caring and loving person. Surviving are: son, Bernard (Delores) Santavy of Swartz Creek; two grandsons, Anthony Peter (Kristin) Santavy and Paul Bernard (Rebecca) Santavy; three great-grandchildren, Antony, Katirina and Julian. She was also preceded in death by: her parents, two brothers, Jacob Vasicek, Frank Vasicek; sister, Mary Vasicek Letavis.
